Applications / Service Engineer
Job Summary:
As an application / service engineer at Aspectrics, you will maintain and service our customers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Expectations is that you will perform customer support activities involving the installation, preventative and corrective maintenance of EP-IR spectrometers as well as integration support of EP-IR spectrometers, from a mechanical, electronic and data transfer view point. You will troubleshoot and repair customer equipment and manage field installations of applicable products. You will calibrate customer equipment according to specifications. You will provide technical support to customers via phone and email, as well as training as required. You will provide support to engineering, manufacturing, and sales on an as needed basis and are expected to provide adequate documentation and reports upon completion of each assigned job.
Qualifications:
- Minimum BS in Engineering with knowledge of analytical instrumentation. Good presentation and communication skills, mature personality and ability to work as part of a group with sales personnel and distributors is expected. Strong technical background, demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits, to read and understand mechanical and electronic schematics, to repair PC hardware are strongly desired. OPC/PLC experience a definite plus. Knowledge of spectrophotometric instrumentation, fiber optic probes and other sampling systems, chemometrics, network integration, and TCP/IP also a definite plus. Experience in the infrared instrumentation industry a definite plus.
- As an employee of the Application and Customer Service group, you will be expected to demonstrate a track record of successful experience in dealing with customer on-site, capacity of independent critical thinking and analysis to solve problems on-site and performance under pressure.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and to lift and move object up to 50 lbs is required
