Company OverviewAbout AspectricsAspectrics began in 2004 to develop and manufacture a new generation of on-line and remotely deployable process monitoring instruments based on a patented, breakthrough technology that the company describes as EP-IR (Encoded Photometric Infra-Red). An opportunity exists for EP-IR to replace Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and gas chromatographic technologies currently used for process monitoring and environmental applications. EP-IR is faster than traditional (FT-IR) systems, provides more information than an (NDIR) system, and does not require consumables like a process based GC. The company is now shipping production systems, and presently has installations at multiple sites spanning a range of industries. The company is managed by a team of Silicon Valley and instrument company veterans and has more than $11 million of venture capital backing to date. TechnologyAspectrics' products are based on a patented Encoded Photometric Infrared (EP-IR) and Encoded Photometric Near Infrared (EP-NIR) spectroscopy technology whereby the company currently holds nine (9) USA patents and one (1) European patent. This technology enables Aspectrics to produce multi-application chemical composition analyzers, based upon a universal EP-IR hardware platform. Investor InformationThe cost-to-performance ratio and adaptability of the EP-IR hardware platform will allow Aspectrics to tackle many markets in parallel and have an abbreviated time-to-market for emerging opportunities. It will also allow the company to focus R&D resources on technology advancements and application-specific software development. Because it is based on well-established rotary-encoder technology, the size, weight and manufactured cost of the EP-IR Analyzer provide a substantial driving force for market penetration. In addition to the current ten (10) patents covering the core encoding technology, there are a number of other patents still pending. Development of a strong patent position will place the company in the position of having proprietary control of what Aspectrics believes will become an industry standard. |
